Karen has been knitting for well over 20 years. After discussing her interest in learning to knit, her mom took her into a Markham yarn shop, bought a pattern and large ball of yarn and taught her to knit. She was immediately hooked!
Karen is intrigued with learning new things, especially new and different knitting techniques. She is drawn to textured knitting stitches and such things as cable patterns, aran knitting and lace stitches. She loves working with her fellow knitters and enjoys the knowledge-sharing process that so naturally occurs.
Karen took early retirement from a career in the insurance industry and has been an active member of the Toronto knitting guild, the Downtown Knit Collective, for over 10 years.
