Sit 'N Knit |

Our knitters are pretty hard-core and nothing gets in their way! They still meet every OTHER Wednesday afternoon from 1:00-3:00 to sit, knit and laugh their faces off (I can hear the roars from downstairs). So join in the fun! Just please remember that this is not an instructional class, just a time to be social and meet with other knitters. |

Socks |

We’ve had lots of people coming into the shop lately to pick up several balls of sock yarn as their ‘vacation knitting’. Socks are easy to knit on the plane (no whacking that guy next to you with your needles!), they can be stuffed into your purse/carry on and can even be knit on the beach! Even if you don’t have a tropical vacation planned for this winter, socks make the perfect go-anywhere project. It’s time for you to learn how to make ‘em if you don’t already know.
Dates-Wednesday, January 25th and February 1st 6:30-8:30 (two weeks total)
Cost- $40.00 plus materials
Please note- Homework is required.
Please have the leg of your sock knit.
Out of a worsted weight yarn (we suggest ‘Perfect’ by Sandnesgarn) cast on 48 stitches and join in the round on double pointed needles (or your preferred method of circular knitting), being careful not to twist.
Rib for 2”.
Continue in stocking stitch until desired length of leg has been reached (approximately 7” total)

If you have a project floating around in your queue that you REALLY want to make, but are too afraid to take on solo, let us help you out! You pick the project, we provide the coaching. Don’t be surprised if you completely amaze yourself. This class is suitable for all skill levels.

Three Ways to Knit in the Round |

If the thought of knitting in the round has been holding you back from tackling certain projects, it’s time to face that fear and figure out what works best for you! Come spend an evening with us as we walk you through three common ways to knit in the round. At the end of the evening, you’ll wonder what you were so scared of in the first place.

This is a great project to try out if you have never felted before. No need to worry about whether or not it will fit a head, your feet, or even your tea pot! It’s a bag! No matter how small you end up shrinking it down to, it will be perfect to tote your latest knitting project in.

Ruffled Purse |

This adorable purse is not only the cutest thing to tote your latest project or your lunch in, it’s a hoot to make! Learn the basics of how ruffles are made, as well as several useful techniques such as three needle bind offs, decreasing and knitting in the round.

Hat |
| |
You have mastered scarves and want to move forward, just a little bit... So why not learn to knit a hat? We'll be learning to knit on double pointed needles but if that's too much, you can do your hat on straight needles. We're flexible! We just want to see you succeed! You'll learn ribbing, decreasing and finally....a POM POM!!!
Keep in mind that the Scott Mission needs hats for their Christmas hampers, and fell short this year...so it's a great way to use up your bits and contribute to a worthwhile project.

If you have never made mitts before, or are nervous about turning your first cable, then join us as we help you out! While we love to teach classes and see you all broaden your knitting horizons, we do need to make a few rules here.
All classes must be paid in full upon registration.No refund for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.
All materials must be purchased at Mary's Yarns
While we want you to make progress, we cannot offer extra help that exceeds a few minutes without prior notice outside of class time. |
